The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra - Summer, 1941
The band worked so much overtime in making the movie "Las Vegas Nights" at Paramount Studios in Hollywood that the studio, as a form of compensation, said they have each person's portrait made. This composite shot, used by Dorsey for publicity, was the result.
Band personnel included [top left] Clark Yocum (vocalist with the Pied Pipers, as well as Dorsey's guitarist), Connie Haines, Frank Sinatra, Jo Stafford, Chuck Lowery, John Huddleston; saxists - Heine Beau, Johnny Mince, Freddy Stulce, Don Lodice; trombonists - Lowell Marti, Les Jenkins, Georges Arus; trumpeters- Jimmy Blake, Ray Linn, Chuck Peterson, Ziggy Elman; drummer- Buddy Rich; bassist - Sid Weiss.
